BEFORE THANKSGIVING DAY
1.) I’m thankful God has bought me through another week of motherhood, wife-hood, blog-hood, me-hood, etc. It was not a walk in the park.
2.) I’m thankful for the very important bill He helped us to pay this week. It was a push for many reasons, but He got us there.
3.) I’m thankful for the “Sunrise Breakfast” our family shared this week. One morning my husband got up early, and made a big breakfast for the family. We were at our table when it was still dark and were able to see the sun rise behind the naked trees outside, through our dinning room windows. What an amazing blessing!
4.) I’m thankful for Thanksgiving. What a blessed holiday, a time to enjoy a good meal with family and reflect on the ways God has blessed our life- with what we have and the people in it.
5.) I’m thankful for all the Thanksgivings our family has had the privilege to enjoy with each other– sometimes with just our small (now big) family, other times with the addition of a full house of friends.
6.) I’m thankful that my husband is a really good cook, and with his cooking and my assistance we have really scrumptious Thanksgiving meals. Friends really enjoy his cooking.
7.) I’m thankful for churches and organizations that organize turkey baskets or turkey dinners for families and people who could use the help. At this time in life, turkey baskets are a blessing to our family, but one day I’d love for us to be on the donating and organizing end of something like that.
8.) I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving- it will be one of those times where it will just be us (our family of 6) for the most part and maybe-most likely my younger brother and his new lovely wife. I pray it will be a blessed day, in fact, I know it will be, no matter what.
9.) I’m thankful for good fellowship with friends and family.
10.) I’m thankful for happy moments and happy memories in life.
11.) I’m thankful for those who love me and those I love.
AFTER THANKSGIVING DAY
12.) I’m thankful for my first thanksgiving in my new home, which I love.
13.) I’m for the turkey basket we received from one of those organizations mentioned in #7. It made a big difference to our family.
14.) I’m thankful for our wonderful thanksgiving guest – My brother and his wife. Who made thanksgiving all the more special.
15.) I’m thankful for God’s provision, providing for us just what we needed above and beyond, so much so we where able to share our bounty with others. I love that.
16.) I’m thankful for our BBQ Grill that cooked our thanksgiving turkey beautifully.
17.) I’m thankful for our new counter top oven, once $99 but came down to $69, worked wonderfully and allowed us to prepare our thanksgiving meal favorites. We did not have an oven at all before.
18.) I’m thankful for my thanksgiving meal favorites, all of which I was able to get this thanksgiving- stuffing, sweet potato pie, broccoli pie, jerk turkey, cranberry sauce & more.
19.) I’m thankful for thanksgiving leftovers. Yum Yum!
20.) I’m thankful for Thanksgiving parades. Awesome balloon floats. Fun to watch.
21.) I’m thankful that this year I’ve made my best sweet potato pie yet, yeah me!
My Thanks
People everywhere in life,
From every walk and station
From every town and city
And every state and nation,
Have given me so many things
Intangible and dear
I couldn’t begin to count them all
Or even make them clear.
I only know I owe so much
To people everywhere,
And when I put my thoughts in verse
It’s just a way to share
The musings of a thankful heart
A heart much like your own,
For nothing that I think and write
Is mine and mine alone….
So if you found some beauty
In any word or line
It’s just your soul’s reflection
In proximity to mine.
