Thanks for joining me for another week of TGI Saturdays. I really appreciate the community we’ve had over the past few weeks. Thanks for sharing your great post and thanks for having a small chat with the host, that’s one of my favorite things about hosting this party.
I have something special to share with you today. Today is one of my sons’ birthday. He will be 4 years old, but I won’t get to sing him happy birthday or hug him or kiss him. I won’t get to watch him open presents or reminisce on how much he’s grown since his birth. In fact, I won’t be with him at all, I won’t even get to see how his features have developed since he was a baby.
As a mom, all I can do is remember him, think about him, honor him on this day and be filled with the hope that our Heavenly father is throwing him a spectacular heavenly fourth birthday. All I can do is believe in my heart that God is hugging and kissing him for me.
My son’s name is Kaiden. He died 5 days after he was born. He was a gift given to me for a short time, but he changed my life immensely. Someday, I am planning to write a book about that year I carried him, he lived and died. It is a story worth telling and I hope God give me the words to tell it well. I hope someday I get to tell his story again and again, and help others with our testimony. For only God knows his plans for my future. I hope it is great.

It is a well written, thought-provoking and at times funny post. It talks about various reasons we sometimes hide who we really are behind a mask, this thought was inspired by the costumes we wear for Halloween. I hope you can take the time to have a read.

Your son’s story brought me to tears. I am so sorry for your loss. You sound like a strong woman! I do hope you can write a book one day, your blog posts on your story have been inspiring to me tonight so I can only imagine how God will use you and your story through a book.

Latisha, I have to tell you that I think you are quite courageous in being honest and vulnerable in this week’s post. Your son’s story is heartbreaking, on this side of eternity. But oh, the testimony of faith you bring with your sure knowledge that he is the arms of our heavenly Father, just waiting for your reunion, brought so much hope to my heart. I can only imagine your heartache. But thank you for reminding me that though life is painful here on earth, we have an eternity ahead of us, with no more sorrow or tears. Our Savior has conquered it all!

Latisha, your story of your son, his birth and his passing into the arms of Jesus moved me. What strength it must have taken from you and your family. I believe he is celebrating and I believe God has a plan. A remarkable journey you’ve been on. Thank you for sharing a part of your life that has touched many.
I too encourage you to write that book. It is very inspiring how you were willing to take the harder route and risk in getting to know your baby boy, knowing that you would most likely have to let him go. That is the beautiful sacrificial love of a mother. May the Lord use the pain of your loss in drawing you closer to His heart.

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I can not imagine going through that, but we have had the death of a close nephew and God’s grace was there. Heaven was made so much more real to all of us. Heaven changes everything. Hugs.
Latisha, I am so sorry for the loss of your son. I cannot even begin to imagine the sense of loss you must feel. It matters not that he was 5 days old, 5 years old or 5 weeks in utero–he was, and still is your son. As a mother, I’m sure that grief never really goes away. I pray that the Holy Spirit will give you the words to write as you pour out your heart and your grief, and may this book be a catharsis for you. Blessings.

Thanks so much for sharing your story. Putting your pain out there for everyone to hear can’t be easy, so thank you. I have had several miscarriages and even with how hard they all were, I can’t even image the pain you and your family went through, and are still going through. I pray that this and your other posts are able to reach just the right Mom, right now, that needs to hear your story, to bring some good out of this. Knowing you are trying to do just that, makes me smile. I hope one day you too will be able to smile knowing that you have helped others with your story.
