“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows. It’s what the sunflowers do.”
-Helen Keller
“Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.”
– Walt Whitman
My first Sunflower bloom for the summer. Bloomed July 16th, 2016.
We picked it the following week and took it to Grandma’s house, along with the rest of her homemade birthday presents.
My first time seeing a field of sunflowers. I have always wanted to do it.
My second sunflower bloom of the summer. My first 6 foot tall Sunflower.
My next set of Sunflower blooms for the summer.
My first hayride through a field of sunflowers.
A bouquet of sunflowers I received for donating to charity.
May the Lord help me to stand tall and strong like a sunflower. Face the sun, even in my darkest hours. And continue to bless our lives with many, many “sunflower days” (happy sunshine days).
I love the bright yellow of sunflowers! It’s so beautiful.
A number of years ago my older son planted a pack of sunflower seeds in my garden. We had bought a variety that gets really tall.
They kept on coming back from seed every year.
One year we had one that was so tall we had trouble measuring its height. I think it was around 10 feet tall.
In the last few years, I think the birds from our bird feeder have taken some of the variety of sunflower seeds from the feeder and planted them in the garden also. These keep coming back from seed also.
Occasionally I will look out the back window and see an American Goldfinch flitting about and landing on the sunflowers. The goldfinches are such an amazing color of yellow in the summertime!
God’s creation is so beautiful. I’m glad He likes bright colors and gives us an appreciation for them as well. He is an amazing creator and sustainer of all!
