Hello wonderful people,
I hope today you are feeling happy and blessed. Sure, life could be a challenge at times, but then there are times when it just brings you happiness in big or small little ways. Spring reminds us of life’s happy times. It’s when bright, warm sunshine starts peeking through the gloomy, dark days. It’s when you shed all those layers of clothing, let your hair down , and free yourself up a bit more. We come out of our black and white t.v lives and welcome brighter, happier, more vivid colors. Spring represents love, happiness and new beginnings. We dust off cobwebs and cast out old unneeded junk, opening ourselves up to things that are new. Welcome Spring!
Well, as we welcome Spring back into our lives for another year. My family and I will also be welcoming a new addition to our lives. Just in time for Spring, this mama will be bringing home baby. That is if all goes well.
As you are reading this post, please keep in mind I wrote this about two months in advance  to when it was published. I am writing this post today full of hope that God will answer prayers and bring us many blessings for Spring, including a healthy baby (don’t know the sex, it will be a surprise) and much more. I pray my Spring, will be one of calm, knowing many prayers have been answered and all is good.
This post is a part of a 19 week series of pre-scheduled posts, set to be published week after week from my “Virtual Freezer.” I am calling this series “Saturday Inspirations,” as they are meant to encourage, inspire and uplift the reader. So I do hope it does so for you.
Feel free to send me your encouragement and prayers via my comment box, will still be looking at those.
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:28-29 (ESV)
Flowers are so beautiful. I can’t imagine our world without them. Their lives are so short, but they make such a powerful impact on this world for the season they are here. Every last one of them do their part to make this world better and healthier. That’s the kind of impact I would like to leave in this world for my season here. I want to make the world around me more beautiful, better and healthier.
My most favorite flower is a Sunflower, the flower itself looks like sunshine, it warms your soul and it just makes me think of happiness and God’s goodness. I admire how a Sunflower stands tall, it makes me think of strength and confidence. I love the fact that a Sunflower always aims to look towards the sun. All these things are things I want to exude in the way I live my life.
Last Spring, I planted my first garden and I planted my first sunflowers, but for many reasons I didn’t get to see them grow to their full potential. This Spring, I hope I will be able to be more successful with my sunflowers. I hope to see them live a happy life, as they should. I hope to stand tall with them in confidence and strength, knowing life could only get better from here.
Sunflower
You stand grand and tall above them all
Your golden petals extend with majesty and grace
As the warmth of the sun reflect on your face
My dear sweet sunflower
I like it how you always face the sun
No matter what happens, it’s your life’s mission
So very much, I’d like to be like you
Make this my life’s mission too
Keep my eyes focused on all that’s bright
Let my light shine, like the sun’s glowing light
You are a happy flower
That’s how you make us feel
For this reason, to my heart you appeal
It brings joy to my soul
when I think about you
I’m thankful for God’s wonderful world
I’m thankful for you
So blessed and in awe
of all God’s beautiful creations
The birds, the trees, the flowers, the sky
You remind me of them all and lift my spirit high
Thank you, dear sunflower
For playing your part
And shining your light inside my heart

I love all types of flowers. Every time I think one is my favorite, I remember another one. Thank you for sharing your poem. I love the verse of the flowers in the field. Thanks for hosting!
Thank you for hosting!
Favorite flower – hmmm, I like so many but I have to say carnations. They last the longest and you can create so many color combos that there is no right or wrong to making it beautiful.
Hey Latisha,
Thanks for hosting and happy Saturday!
thank you for hosting… looking forward to your return and hearing all about the addition of the newest member of your family. :)
I love daisies and carnations. I really don’t like roses too much.
I like sunflowers too. They provide food for the birds, long after the glory of the flower is gone. I hope all is well with you and yours. Right now in my backyard, in bloom: cherry tree, tulip magnolia tree, redbud, daffodils, and quince. So many colors! So many birds singing!
