“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.” Rosalynn Carter
Yesterday morning I watched the final presidential debate prior to Election Day on November 4th. So what are my thoughts? Well, I’m glad you ask.
I tried and I tried and I tried. Been searching all morning for some sort of video clip or something of this episode I watched of 7th Heaven (one of my favorite t.v series of all time) once but all I could find was the year, season, episode title and preview. It was in 2004; around the time of America’s last Elections and it was season nine, episode five and the episode was entitled “Vote.”

Sorry, about the Language
Sadly, I really don’t have five friends to send this video to but if you want to be my friend, that’s cool
I have a little confession to make; during this summer; for about a month or two I have been taking allergy medicine or Tynelol to help me sleep almost every night; because of this act I have been sleeping very well but very unsure if doing something like that is safe; I even prayed about it. Not really receiving much of an answer from God; at least not in a way I understood; I went ahead and continue misusing my allergy and headache medicine to get a good nights rest. Until a couple of weeks ago, I started experiencing nose bleeds more than I have in my life; about six times to be exact; including the two times it happened last night. During these times; I started to wonder if it is because of my new sleeping habit that my nose was starting to bleed so often but I wasn’t sure.
The bible says in Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2 (KJV); “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” and the chapter goes on to list various seasons in one’s life. It also goes on to say in verse 12 and 13; “I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life. And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.”
Eat, drink, do good things, be good to others and be merry; that is the responsibility of man, which is God’s gift to us; something that very few on this earth have come to understand but it is a message God has imprinted on my heart long before I came to be the young woman I am now.
For as long as I have known myself I have loved with a big heart; I have dreamed with all my soul and I have had passion bursting through the seams. This is a complete contradiction of any example set for me by my parents (who I do love).
Have you ever noticed just as your life is getting ready to propel you from one phase to another, the atmosphere around you gets a little smoggy; the space around you gets smaller and tighter and everything seems to fall apart and malfunction; you begin to suffer from an almost severe case of claustrophobia; you get really fed-up, frustrated and lose your patience; plus the clock tick-tocks slower than ever? Does that happen to you too or it’s just me?
From thirteen years old, I have carried a burden over my shoulder, that I never fully understood and I don’t believe is mine to carry. I am not a science or spiritual world expert, so I can’t write this article wholly from either perspective, but I can share with you my experiences, my thoughts and one or two things I have learnt on the matter.
I believe we are all made to be in the image of God but I also believe we were all designed deliberately to be individuals with the privilege to make our own choices no matter what part of the world or what culture we were born into. These are the things that connect us and divide us.
I believe every one of us is entitled to our own relationship with the Heavenly Father and we can praise him anyway we like. For instance; if we express ourselves better with the movement of our bodies than the words of our mouths, then I say talk to God with dance and if we write easier than we prayer, then who says you can’t write God a letter, who says he won’t read it.
