<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2832" title="247189180-07080856" src="http://www.asklatisha.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/247189180-07080856.jpg" alt="" width="288" height="199" />Chief Judge Belvin Perry sentenced Casey Anthony this morning for lying to police, giving her four years in jail and credit for the time she&#8217;s already served since 2008.</p>
<p>Considering how much time she&#8217;s already served and other factors, court officials said Anthony will be released from the Orange County Jail on July 13.</p>
<p>She was fined $4,000, or $1,000 for each conviction. She also must pay $618 in other costs.<span id="more-2831"></span></p>
<p>These fines are separate from the investigation and prosecution costs state prosecutors want Anthony to pay.</p>
<p>The four-year sentence imposed by Perry is the maximum the judge could set under the jury&#8217;s decision.</p>
<p>But unhappy Anthony opponents still gathered outside the courthouse to express their displeasure about her acquittal Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder in connection to her daughter&#8217;s death.</p>
<p>&#8220;I feel she got away with murder and it really irritates me,&#8221; said Donna Marini, an Altamonte Springs woman who attended most of the trial proceedings.</p>
<p>Nearby her, though, Casey Anthony supporters chanted for her release. One man stood with a sign asking &#8220;Casey will you marry me?&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I would date her,&#8221; said the sign&#8217;s holder, Tim Allen. &#8220;Everyone deserves a second chance.&#8221;</p>
<p>Inside the courtroom, Anthony showed no reaction while Perry discussed her lies and imposed his sentence.</p>
<p>Earlier, she arrived in Perry&#8217;s courtroom appearing relaxed and happy.</p>
<p><strong>All of Anthony&#8217;s lies</strong></p>
<p>Anthony, who normally wears her long hair in a bun on top of her head, wore her hair down in court today. She huddled with her attorneys, Cheney Mason and Dorothy Clay Sims, while smiling and stroking her hair before the hearing began.</p>
<p>Her smiles disappeared, though, as Perry handed down his sentence.</p>
<p>Perry disagreed with Lisbeth Fryer, one of Anthony&#8217;s attorneys, who argued that Anthony&#8217;s four convictions for lying to police should be solidated into one count.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s because all the lies were told in one conversation, Fryer said.</p>
<p>Fryer noted that the concept of &#8220;double jeopardy&#8221; should be applied. She wanted Perry to sentence Anthony on one charge because the false statements she gave law enforcement stem from a single incident on July 16, 2008.</p>
<p>She also noted case law to support her argument.</p>
<p>Assistant State Attorney Linda Drane Burdick disagreed, saying &#8220;It is our position that there is a temporal break between the lies.&#8221;</p>
<p>Burdick says Anthony&#8217;s lies were intende to lead law enforcement &#8220;on a wild goose chase.&#8221;</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Politics and Law, I often stay out of them. I watch the news now and then and learn a little about issues that are connected to these two  subjects. When it came to the election of President Barack Obama, I paid attention and the Trial of mom Casey Anthony caught my attention, it fascinated me, it left me with big unanswered questions, and the biggest of all is; what really happened to that beautiful little girl (Caylee Anthony)?<span id="more-2794"></span></p>
<p>Questions, that even as a verdict has been decided, is still unanswered.  I can’t claim to know what happened or if Casey did or did not deliberately or accidentally take her daughter’s life but it feels as though a lot of what I have learned about her surrounding this case, as a mom, doesn&#8217;t make any sense to me.</p>
<p>For example, her lies; the 31 days after her daughter went missing of not telling anyone she was missing or calling the police; her calmness versus her mother’s franticness, when her mother made a call to 911; accusing her father of sexual abuse, then saying something completely opposite in their jailhouse conversations; the smell of decomposition in her car, the &#8220;Bella Vita&#8221; (means &#8221;Beautiful Life&#8221;) tattoo she got while her daughter was missing, and the list goes on.</p>
<p>It doesn’t make any sense to me, how a jury could find her not guilty. Not guilty, I honestly don’t believe that, but the law is the law, and despite it all, the State just did not have anything other than circumstantial evidence to prove beyond a shadow of doubt she did this, and the Defense did an awesome job of creating reasonable doubt, well, for the jury anyway.</p>
<p>I don’t know what is going to happen now, if the truth will come out someday or  will anyone ever pay for this awful crime on this Earth, I do know however that they will pay and they will carry that guilt with them for the rest of their lives. Personally, I believe we had the killer in our grasp and we let her go. What now?</p>
<p>This little girl was killed and her body thrown in the woods like trash, and now today that crime goes unpunished.</p>
<p>I was too young to really remember the details of the OJ Simpson trial, but when I heard this verdict that&#8217;s what I thought about, only up until recently, OJ Simpson has been walking around a free man, well free from physical bondage anyway and here is someone else getting away with murder. I think this Jury really played it safe.</p>
<p>I still think that Casey has hell to pay from here on out,  more jailtime or not.</p>
<p>I just want to remember Caylee today, a beautiful princess who never got to shine, because my life will go on and the rest of the world will move on, and Caylee will soon be out of our thoughts and minds, knowing this sadden me. To quote CNN headline news host Nancy Grace, “Somewhere out there, the devil is dancing.”</p>

After nearly six weeks of testimony, a panel of seven women and five men decided that Ms. Anthony did not murder Caylee by dosing her with Chloroform, suffocating her with duct tape and dumping her in a wooded area, as prosecutors claimed. They did, however, find her guilty of lesser charges, of providing false information to law enforcement officers.</p>
<p>I have been following this case from the very start. From the time little Caylee went missing to the moment they found Casey Anthony NOT GUILTY.<br />
Sure the Prosecution&#8217;s case was greatly circumstantial.<br />
But what else could have happened to this little Caylee if her mom did not kill her.<br />
Who killed her?<br />
Will we ever know the truth?</p>
<p>This is our judicial system at work.</p>

<p>What does the inside of Lady Gaga’s mind look like? I have a feeling if I shrank myself really small and tried to venture in there, it’ll look a lot the movie “The Cell,” <em>( remember that one with JLo and Vince Vaughn),</em> it wouldn’t be a safe place to be, not for my sanity.</p>
<p>Lady Gaga is one those people, that for as long as she keeps on the road she’s on, she’ll always have people talking about her. Some with high praises, some with absolute disgust, and the in between folk like me going “What the Gaga?” </p>
<p>To be honest with you, that girl use to scare me. She scared me because she has so much influence over our youth and she is using that influence to promote this kind of behavior: “<em>But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. <sup>2</sup> People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,</em><em> abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, <sup>3</sup> without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, <sup>4</sup> treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— <sup>5</sup> having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” </em><strong>2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV. </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Now I’m not so scared of Gaga anymore, seem to me that girl is so confused and do not know where she stands. I truly believe she is on a path to self-destruction and if we are not careful she’ll take much of our youth with her.</p>
<p>We need to play a more active role in our young people’s lives and I’m not just talking about our own kids but get involve with the kids in need around us, your neighbor’s child, children in the community, etc. We need to talk to them, encourage them, spend time with them and love them. That’s what we all want; to feel important, to feel worthy, and to feel loved.</p>
<p>Often when we are on a path to self-destruction it is because we are crying out for someone to help us, we feel empty inside and don’t know how to fill that void. So we try to fill it with pleasure and things that are not good for us, but fun or temporally numbing.</p>
<p>I think that’s where Lady Gaga is at right now. The life she lives, it’s going so fast, it’s like a blur. She is on a permanent high right now, but truth is eventually she’ll have to come back down to Earth, get down to the nitty-gritty, go deeper into the lyrics she writes and get to the core of what she’s really feeling and what she is really trying to say.</p>
<p>I can’t really speak on all of Lady Gaga’s music but most of what I’ve heard or read <em>(the lyrics)</em> sound like lyrical nonsense to me, but I am well aware to numerous “Little Monsters” as Lady Gaga so amicably call her fans, they are mega hits.</p>
<p>Honestly, though, the recent newsmaker (controversial song) “Judas,” does it make any sense to you? What is she trying to say with lines like <em>“I’m in love with Judas?”</em> Within  these lyrics that don’t fit well together and seem to be coming from all over the place, it sounds to me like “Judas” is meant to represent Sin, and she is saying she loves sin, and prefers it over virtue. These lyrics in my opinion doesn’t make much sense, I really truly don’t get them.</p>
<p>In the Bridge, it goes:</p>

<p>In the most Biblical sense,</p>
<p> I am beyond repentance</p>
<p>Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind</p>
<p> But in the cultural sense</p>

<p>But something&#8217;s pulling me away from you</p>

<p>Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to</p>
<p> Some parts of it I get and then some parts I am lost a bit. I’m like “What the Gaga is she talking about?” I can understand however how people could really relate to the last four lines of this bridge. In my early adolescence and young adulthood, I’ve felt that way also, but as I progressed further and further into adulthood, I realize that clinging to Judas (by which I assume she means Sin) does nothing but destroy you.</p>
<p>I am also very curious to understand these lines: <em>“I’ll bring him down, bring him down, down, A king with no crown, king with no crown.”</em> What is she trying to say here?  Because it sounds to me like she is talking about Jesus. What’s with that?</p>
<p>Speaking about the lyrics in general, I just don’t think it is saying what the writer thinks it is, whatever message she was trying to convey are lost amid really confusing lyrics. I think Lady Gaga needed to do a lot more research and get into some biblical truths, if she is going to use biblical references in this song.  If I was her, I’d let this one go to the chopping block. It’s not ready.</p>
<p>Lady Gaga just has the kind of music that is catchy and addicting, and you find yourself singing her “vomit,” as she calls it. Lucifer was the Angel of Music, after all. In <strong>Philippians 4:8</strong>, the bible says <em>“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”</em> Lady Gaga’s music does not fit the bill.</p>
<p>Also for those who know a little something about the bible, when we think of Judas, we don’t necessarily think Sin, we think betrayal.</p>
<p>I don’t pretend to understand or know Stefani Germanotta, a.k.a, Lady Gaga, but I know one thing; she is not a Role Model.</p>
<p>In my opinion, I believe she wants to make a difference in this world, she wants to liberate people to love themselves and be themselves, and I think she thinks that every thought we have good or bad is our own, we were “born this way,” so why not give in to our sinful tendencies?</p>
<p>But the truth is every good or bad idea or thought we have does not have to be acknowledged, <em>(<strong>2 Corinthians 10: 5</strong><sup> “</sup>We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”),</em> because we want to give in to sin doesn’t mean we have to, we weren’t just “born this way,” so we shouldn’t surrender that idea.</p>
<p>We have to choose what we want for our lives. I choose to cling to virtue, even though it is a much harder and less popular path. <em>“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. <sup>14</sup> Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. </em><strong>Matthew 7:13-14 NIV</strong></p>

<p> I’m really going to miss this one. It was an exciting and at times thought-provoking seires.I looked forward to watching this with my husband (who is also a fan) every week. It was quite an adventure.</p>
