This is my God-eye view of this music video or as I like to call it, stolen 9 minutes and 32 seconds. Wow, I’m almost at a lost for words. How many of you actually liked this video? Read the rest of this entry »

Here is the revamped music video of “We are the World.” Now called “We are the World-25 for Haiti.”
Haters out there talking about how it sucks. I don’t think it sucks at all and I am not comparing it to the original. It is modern and more relevant to these times.
Two complaints though; why the heck did they make Lil’Wayne one of the featured artist, yuck! and some of the lyrics were revised; taking mention of God out of the picture. What’s up with that, who can lend a helping hand greater than God? I’m scared to live in a world trying to live without God.
omitted lines:
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
And so we all must lend a helping hand
revised lines:
So their cries for help will not be in vain
We can’t let them suffer
No we cannot turn away
Right now they need a helping hand
I like the duet with Janet and Micheal Jackson; I like the Hip-Hop ensemble; I like most of the artists featured in the video excluding Lil’Wayne; I like the scenes depicting a hopeful spirit of the Haitian people amidst tragedy. I think it is a cool video. I hope it raises alot of money to help Haiti and inspire people to give whatever they can. After all that is what it is all about, right?
I must be crazy; but I really, really love this song:
Crazy lyrics
Songwriters: Burton, Brian Joseph; Callaway, Thomas Decarlo; Reverberi, Gian Piero; Reverberi, Gianfranco;
I remember when, I remember
I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place
Even your emotions have an echo in so much space
And when you’re out there without care
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough
I just knew too much
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly
And I hope that you are
Having the time of your life
But think twice
That’s my only advice
Come on now, who do you
Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are?
Ha ha ha, bless your soul
You really think you’re in control?
Well, I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
I think you’re crazy
Just like me
My heroes had the heart
To lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember
Is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little
Ever since I was little
It looked like fun
And it’s no coincidence I’ve come
And I can die when I’m done
But maybe I’m crazy
Maybe you’re crazy
Maybe we’re crazy
Probably

Keri Hilson covers Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy- I don’t think she did a bad job at all- I think it was a solid performance.

Last Saturday morning (a lovely day); the Men’s Fellowship at my Church hosted a prayer breakfast; the décor was gorgeous; the food look absolutely scrumptious, made me wish I had a bigger mouth; my husband played the sax (song- “Nothing but the love of Jesus”); we prayed for the youth, we prayed for leadership, we prayed for our community; we prayed for our Church and so much more.
We also had a speaker from another church who spoke a message which he entitled “It Pays to Pray.” He used the word “HAT,” as an illustration of his message; pray is your protection and covering; just as a hat covers and protects your head; and the word “HAT’’ also stood for; when you pray; “God hears you; God answers you; and you will have a miraculous testimony.” We also sang beautiful songs like “Blessed Assurance,” “Count Your Blessings” and others. I think the lyrics of the song “Count your Blessings” are so simple yet so true and these words shouldn’t be forgotten when times are tough. Please take in these lyrics with me:
Count Your Blessings
1. When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
o Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.]
2. Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
3. When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings—wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4. So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
What a lovely morning it was.
I absolutely love this video, this song and these lyrics. So enjoy! Hope you like it too. Rock on!
Here are some reviews I wrote a while back but never got around to posting:
Well; today is October 14th; seven days subsequent to my last post. How are you all today?
I don’t have anything specific to talk about; just all these random thoughts etcetera that have passed through my mind since we spoke last.
Today is my brother’s birthday. He’ll be twenty-two today and he is probably at work in Barbados (Caribbean island) right now. So I’ll call him later, see how he is doing. Remind him that I love him.
I got to tell you; back in the day; I can’t believe I am old enough to say that, sigh; anyway, back in the day; I really was anxious about getting older; finishing school; earning my own income; getting married; having children; being a successful whatever I become; now I just want to go back there; slap that girl in her face and say slow down; take it a step at a time; live your life. Be a TEEN.
Now I am no longer a teen; I am a woman but my mind is yet to catch up with my no longer skinny adolescent body. I still feel like a teen but I have responsibilities like a mother, wife and a woman. I have to grow up or at the very least find a middle ground. I have to embrace who I am now and work towards being the chick I want to be. Anyway, this post wasn’t really meant to talk about all that per say but I wanted to talk about the young people/celebs I really am a very big fan of out there; their music, their talents, their looks and the way they represent youth and that generation.
This is what the music of my soul sounds like and that’s what the real me would be doing right now; if she wasn’t locked up. Point is love this ad; makes me wanna dance in the rain. Read the rest of this entry »
Hey; watch this freaky video with Rihanna; the song is freaky too; not sure that I get what the song is about; I read the lyrics but I don’t get it really; do you? Anyway, I do love the freaky video and the beat.
