Some couples just go really well together on screen.

            This year they have a few couplings that look like they will be mad funny together. I am actually really looking forward to seeing these flicks. Check these trailers out and tell me what you think?

I am a fan of Jackie Chan; I think he is one funny Chinese dude. Love his movies because they are energetic, fun, funny and plain entertaining; whether they are Blockbusters or not. I love movies that make me smile, LOL or just make me feel light. I love happy endings and when the bad guys get what’s coming to them in the end.

That’s what The Karate Kid movies are all about.I am a fan of all the original Karate Kid movies, even the one with Hilary Swank.

However, I am not sure how I feel about Jaden Smith cast as our new Karate Kid. I just don’t think I could love this movie as much as I’d like to for that reason. No disrespect to Jaden Smith but he’s not there yet, far from, in my opinion. I do love his father though, but despite whom his father is I think this young star has to take smaller steps. Work on his craft, work his way up and be respected as Jaden Smith, not Will Smith’s kid who got the lead in that movie. I think he has to humble himself (he’s a bit too cocky for me) and do this thing right, if he ever wants to be taken seriously as an actor and not just the offspring of two really famous people (of whom I am a big fan) with a free-pass for that reason.

Anyway, here’s the trailer. What do you think?

All and all though, I probably would be more excited about this film had they choosen a different, somewhat better Karate Kid. I’m just saying! Sorry Will, still love you though, Seven Pounds, Hancock and all.

What can I say? I really love movies and t.v, almost makes me wish I were better at writing previews and reviews. I’d do my own movie/t.v news site.  

             At least about two or three times a year, I like to go on movie news sites and check-out upcoming flicks for that year and beyond. Read as much info as I can about the ones that interest me the most.  

            Like who’s going to be in it, what it’s about, etc. Not to mention, I love watching trailers, sometimes I enjoy a trailer more than the movie itself. I love going to the theaters, that’s one of my favorite past times. What about you?  

            This year, like years past will feature all types of movies, remakes, musicals, sequels, blockbusters, dramas, comedies, epic, CGI-animations, 3-Dimentianal flicks, t.v and book adaptations and more. Here is a list of some of my most anticipated flicks of 2010, some trailers included:  

My #1 Most Anticipated   

 M. Night Shyamalan The Last Airbender  

 Directed by M. Night Shyamalan; personally I don’t hate his work, I haven’t seen all of his films but it seems to me that his writing and films are very unique but not always so well received by the majority.  

             I am a little nervous about The Last Airbender movie adaptation falling into his hands. I not sure if he is the right man to capture the essence of the animated series. Yes, it would make an amazing action flick, I always thought so, but I hope the humor and relationships between these characters are not sacrificed to make it an action movie like any other.  

             Avatar the series was so much more. I loved Aang’s childlike spirit; Sokka’s sense of humor; Katara’s brave heart; Suki’s resilience; Aang’s Appa/ Momo companionship; the bond between Prince Zuko and Uncle Iroh; Uncle Iroh’s philosophical nature; the flashbacks of Prince Zuko’s past that indicated he was not as evil as he was perceived to be, but just an angry kid who seek his father’s love and acceptance; and the sense that he would help Aang make things right when the time came. Those things and more made this series carve a permanent spot in my list of all-time t.v favorites.   

            I’m not too sure how I feel about some of the casting in this film, but I think Noah Ringer looks like a perfect Aang, I love the idea of Dev Patel as Prince Zukko and Nicola Petlz is a very beautiful Katara. Jackson Rathbone looks like Sokka, but does he have his funny bone, we’ll see. I hear that this is the first installment of a trilogy. I hope all participants involve in bringing this film to life, give it all it they got and I hope it is well received. M. Night Shyamalan, you better not screw this up!

Musicals I am looking forward to seeing:  

 2009 released the remake of the musical “Fame” with young, hot, talented uprising stars such as Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Anna Maria Perez De Tagle and more. This year I am really looking forward to the “Footloose” remake with Chase Crawford and Julianne Hough. As well as “Step-Up 3-D” and “Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.”  

 So they are not really any movies other The Last Airbender and Footlloose that I am overly excited about seeing but here are a few trailers of movies I like to see; big hits or not.  

 

 

 

 

 Okay, I was wrong. I am also really psych about Vanessa Hudgens’ upcoming flick “Beastly.” I am really glad to see America Ferrera starring with Lance Gross in this grown-up role in “Our Family Wedding.”

            Heard a few reviews here or there about it, when it came out in Theaters and it seemed that some had higher expectations and were unfortunately disappointed by the outcome; but for me I didn’t have a single expectation; just hopes.

             I hoped that I would be entertained by this film and I was; I hoped that at some point I would sit forward in my chair anxiously awaiting what happens next and at times I did; I hoped that I would really despise the evil in this film and be routing for the good guys to hurry up and kick some butt and I did. So in my books; this movie did not waste two hours of my life and I did not want my money back; in fact; I think I’ll even get myself a copy for my personal collection; so that my family and I could sit together and enjoy it again and again.

             I have always been a fan of most of Brendan Frasier’s work; The Mummy 3 not included. I loved The Mummy and I absolutely completely whole-heartedly (get the picture) adored The Mummy 2. Brendan Frasier makes me laugh and is pretty good at doing the whole hero bit and doing these kinds of films; he has had a lot of practice.

            Inkheart is the first of its kind; in terms of its concept. It has an unique storyline; an interesting ending; one or two twists (predictable and unexpected); all and all I liked it; I’ll give it four stars or out of five; one star for a creative and original concept; one star for Brendan Frasier (who I love as an actor); another for the evil dude Capricorn played by Andy Serkis; who also portrays the naughty and disgusting Gollum/Smeagol in “The Lord of the Ring” series; and his wicked henchmen; and the last star for the very cute actor (Rafi Gavron-never seen him before) who played Farid; I probably appreciated and mentioned how cute he was about six times while watching this movie; other than his “cutie-patootiness” ; he really did not have much of a challenging or stand-out role to make you want to know him or crave more of his work; anyway I wish his cuteness and his career all the best.

I will put this film on my Epic movie collection shelf right between the Harry Potters and Stardust (have you seen that one, I absolutely love it, rent or buy it, pleeeeeaaaaaassssee). Oh, Chronicles of Narnia(s) is on that shelf too. What did you think of this movie, let me know, please?
