Wow, looks great! Hope they didn’t pack all the good stuff in the trailer. So question; which movie are you most excited to see?
Iron Man 2
There were Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker; Mel Gibson and Danny Glover; Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks; Julia Roberts and Richard Gere; Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. Some couples just go really well together on screen. Read the rest of this entry »
Here’s the deal, i’m not sure if I’d go to the theaters to see it, but I would watch at home, just to be entertained or whatever. Read the rest of this entry »
My Most Anticipated Films of 2010
What can I say? I really love movies and t.v, almost makes me wish I were better at writing previews and reviews. I’d do my own movie/t.v news site.
At least about two or three times a year, I like to go on movie news sites and check-out upcoming flicks for that year and beyond. Read as much info as I can about the ones that interest me the most.
Like who’s going to be in it, what it’s about, etc. Not to mention, I love watching trailers, sometimes I enjoy a trailer more than the movie itself. I love going to the theaters, that’s one of my favorite past times. What about you?
This year, like years past will feature all types of movies, remakes, musicals, sequels, blockbusters, dramas, comedies, epic, CGI-animations, 3-Dimentianal flicks, t.v and book adaptations and more. Here is a list of some of my most anticipated flicks of 2010, some trailers included:
My #1 Most Anticipated
M. Night Shyamalan The Last Airbender
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan; personally I don’t hate his work, I haven’t seen all of his films but it seems to me that his writing and films are very unique but not always so well received by the majority.
I am a little nervous about The Last Airbender movie adaptation falling into his hands. I not sure if he is the right man to capture the essence of the animated series. Yes, it would make an amazing action flick, I always thought so, but I hope the humor and relationships between these characters are not sacrificed to make it an action movie like any other.
Avatar the series was so much more. I loved Aang’s childlike spirit; Sokka’s sense of humor; Katara’s brave heart; Suki’s resilience; Aang’s Appa/ Momo companionship; the bond between Prince Zuko and Uncle Iroh; Uncle Iroh’s philosophical nature; the flashbacks of Prince Zuko’s past that indicated he was not as evil as he was perceived to be, but just an angry kid who seek his father’s love and acceptance; and the sense that he would help Aang make things right when the time came. Those things and more made this series carve a permanent spot in my list of all-time t.v favorites.
I’m not too sure how I feel about some of the casting in this film, but I think Noah Ringer looks like a perfect Aang, I love the idea of Dev Patel as Prince Zukko and Nicola Petlz is a very beautiful Katara. Jackson Rathbone looks like Sokka, but does he have his funny bone, we’ll see. I hear that this is the first installment of a trilogy. I hope all participants involve in bringing this film to life, give it all it they got and I hope it is well received. M. Night Shyamalan, you better not screw this up!

Dev Patel as Prince Zukko and Jackson Rathbone as Sokka
Musicals I am looking forward to seeing:
2009 released the remake of the musical “Fame” with young, hot, talented uprising stars such as Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Anna Maria Perez De Tagle and more. This year I am really looking forward to the “Footloose” remake with Chase Crawford and Julianne Hough. As well as “Step-Up 3-D” and “Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.”
So they are not really any movies other The Last Airbender and Footlloose that I am overly excited about seeing but here are a few trailers of movies I like to see; big hits or not.
Okay, I was wrong. I am also really psych about Vanessa Hudgens’ upcoming flick “Beastly.” I am really glad to see America Ferrera starring with Lance Gross in this grown-up role in “Our Family Wedding.”
So I finally was able to watch the Epic/Adventure Inkheart a couple of days ago, now that it is on DVD (came out Tuesday, June 23rd) and I have to say I really enjoyed it.
Heard a few reviews here or there about it, when it came out in Theaters and it seemed that some had higher expectations and were unfortunately disappointed by the outcome; but for me I didn’t have a single expectation; just hopes.
I hoped that I would be entertained by this film and I was; I hoped that at some point I would sit forward in my chair anxiously awaiting what happens next and at times I did; I hoped that I would really despise the evil in this film and be routing for the good guys to hurry up and kick some butt and I did. So in my books; this movie did not waste two hours of my life and I did not want my money back; in fact; I think I’ll even get myself a copy for my personal collection; so that my family and I could sit together and enjoy it again and again.
I have always been a fan of most of Brendan Frasier’s work; The Mummy 3 not included. I loved The Mummy and I absolutely completely whole-heartedly (get the picture) adored The Mummy 2. Brendan Frasier makes me laugh and is pretty good at doing the whole hero bit and doing these kinds of films; he has had a lot of practice.
Inkheart is the first of its kind; in terms of its concept. It has an unique storyline; an interesting ending; one or two twists (predictable and unexpected); all and all I liked it; I’ll give it four stars or out of five; one star for a creative and original concept; one star for Brendan Frasier (who I love as an actor); another for the evil dude Capricorn played by Andy Serkis; who also portrays the naughty and disgusting Gollum/Smeagol in “The Lord of the Ring” series; and his wicked henchmen; and the last star for the very cute actor (Rafi Gavron-never seen him before) who played Farid; I probably appreciated and mentioned how cute he was about six times while watching this movie; other than his “cutie-patootiness” ; he really did not have much of a challenging or stand-out role to make you want to know him or crave more of his work; anyway I wish his cuteness and his career all the best.
I will put this film on my Epic movie collection shelf right between the Harry Potters and Stardust (have you seen that one, I absolutely love it, rent or buy it, pleeeeeaaaaaassssee). Oh, Chronicles of Narnia(s) is on that shelf too. What did you think of this movie, let me know, please?
Love yah, Love movies
Have a nice day
Tish.
I love the arts in all its forms; this includes dancing; I love dance movies; dance t.v and dancing at home in front my mirror (even though I haven’t done that in so long-but I really need to).

So I finally set Fox reality dance show; “ So, you think you can dance,” to record on my DVR last week; picking up from the Top 18 dancers; I am not into all that audition stuff; I missed the first performance show; how I missed that; I don’t know; anyway….. I took mental notes for my blog; so I could share Youtube (I love Youtube) videos of my some of my favorite dances or dancers; but unfortunately this time around they weren’t really any.
So, You Think You Can Dance, Top 18 Reviews

Sonja Tayeh Awesome Jazz Routine
However; of course, some dances did stand out more than others; for instance; I thought Asuka (Kondoh) and Vitolio (Jeune)’s Waltz was really beautiful and emotionally caressing and the absolutely riveting Enya music playing in the background, certainly did not hurt the routine either; it was sweet how that dance moved judge Mary Murphy to tears. Karla (Garcia) and Jonathan (Platero)’s dance choreographed by Canadian choreographer Stacy Tookey was also very pretty.

Sonja Tayeh
Melissa and Ade’s Sonja Tayeh (a real unique individual) Jazz routine was a real attention-grabbing physically challenged routine; it rocked and it made me desire to get up and dance; according to Judge and Choreographer Lil’C, “That was bucc.”
Brandon and Janette’s Disco was really fast paste and I thought it was a cool routine; don’t cha yah wish you could dance like that, don’t cha? I do, I do; maybe someday.
I thought Shane Sparks’ choreography ideas were cool and would have been highly recieved if the dancers were able to really pull them off; however; I didn’t think Ashley; who partnered with Kupono; wasn’t bad at all, maybe as a routine and as a team they didn’t work; but I thought she really shake those Hips and I was disappointed she got sent home so soon; I wanted to see more of her, I also think she is really pretty (looks a little like Rachel Leigh Cook to me); too bad. Maybe somebody will leave the show and they’ll bring her back for a second try; I think it was her solo routine (lack of content) that did her in; and somehow; I knew Max would have been the one (male) to go; he was not only competing against dancing skills but personalities as well. His personality did not have a powerful presence to me; i just don’t think he stood a chance.

Fame (the original)
In preparation for the big screen premiere of “Fame” remake, September 25th; I decided to watch the original; yes, that would be my first time seeing it. I assumed Debbie Allen had a bigger role in this film; nevertheless this movie was very entertaining, at times funny, at times sweet but it really felt incomplete to me in the end; after following a synopsis of the main character’s lives over a four-year span during their time at this Liberal Arts school in New York; I expected a close to their stories; a glimpse of their futures after graduation; this ending felt unfinished and unsatisfactory; even the graduation scene did not appease me for my time; not a single story had an ending; no questions answered; no resolutions; nothing but an incomplete story. I hope the remake does a better job of giving us something take with us; other than an awesome soundtrack and temporary entertainment of dance, music and song.
Footloose Remake
In other dancing news; Dancing with the Stars Pro Julianne Hough was offered the lead in another upcoming musical/dance remake “Footloose,” set to come out in 2010, alongside Chase Crawford (a role that was originally offered to High School Musical star Zac Efron); after (so I heard) auditioning against more experienced actresses like Hayden Panetierre and Amanda Bynes. You, go, girl. When I initially heard who was auditioning for the part and I really hoped Julianne would be the one to get it, I think she’ll be great in the part, she is brand spanking new in that part of the Biz, which is always exciting; she is a great dancer and singer, she is beautiful; this will be totally awesome for her career and I am looking forward to seeing this film in 2010,; if God spares my life.
Dancing with Stars- Season Eight- Top Three
Speaking of Dancing with the Stars; here are some updates of what’s next on the agenda for Season Eight contenders and pro-dancers.
Apparently; 17-year-old Gymnast Shawn Johnson; Season Eight Champion is mulling over taking the lead role in a kid’s flick; that’s all I know; oh and the Disco Ball Trophy is or was in the repair shop; apparently it got broken during a shipment from New York.
First runner-up and hot French actor from the “Sex and the City” movie Gilles Marini gets naughty on t.v series Nip/Tuck as somebody’s (Erica) sexy younger bad-boy husband.
Second runner-up Melissa Rycroft is apparently joining the cast of “Good Morning, America;” serving as a special contributor (for now) delivering uplifting, summer-type pieces (tvguide.com). Somebody (God) must be really looking out for this girl and her future. She may have stumbled on an accidental career, unlike Deanna Pappas, who in my opinion wants it bad. I am happy for her and very proud. Go, Melissa, go; I am looking forward to seeing you on GMA and I promise I’ll watch.

In other news (not that I care); Pro-Dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy a.k.a “the bad boy of ballroom” will be one of the celebrities on new reality series “The Superstars.” Speaking of Maksim; he and his fiancé Karina Smirnoff (who have been dating for about a year) have landed their own reality series; another one of those “come watch my dramatic life as I prepare for my wedding and advance my career” reality shows; so how long do you think this marriage is going to last? (in my opinion, not long at all) Anyway, I am really not a fan of either dancers, so I probably won’t watch. Will you?
Phew; I have finally finished this post for now, thought the end would never come. It took half my day but I’m finally done, please don’t make this post be in vain, if you read this, drop me a line, it’ll make my day and I would appreciate it very much. Talk to you soon. Get up and dance.

Holla! TishTishBaby!
Some info gathered from www.buddytv.com .

Good News; romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds; “The Proposal” tops Box Office with an estimated 34.1 million, knocking hard-core bachelor-party comedy “Hangover” to the second spot. Finally!
Yeah, baby. Loved that movie; love Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds is a cutie-pie. I’m totally cool with that. Go, Sandra, Go.
Awesome!!!!!!!
This week got to watch four new movies; two at the cinema and two delivered from Netflix.
It all started when my first movie arrived in my mailbox Tuesday. “Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail,” it was a good; quality; funny movie done in Tyler Perry fashion. It was different seeing Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show) take on a role like that. I still got to say even though she has been acting all her life, she still needs to work on her craft, not saying she is bad but she isn’t great or good either; she’s alright. Nevertheless, I am glad Tyler Perry was able to give her the opportunity to find her career again and I hope her alignment with TP Studios takes her to great heights, that’s a honest wish. I’d give “Madea Goes to Jail” a four star rating; mainly because it’s a Tyler Production. I liked it, I am not sure if I really took anything away from it, but it was a good story and very entertaining.
Wednesday, was a beautiful day; my sister and I visited a cinema downtown; to see UP in 3D, this is my first 3D animation since Beowulf. It was awesome. I want more 3D, even though 3D flicks are mad expensive. UP was a really sweet story of love and unlikely friendships. It was about adventure and letting go of yesterdays, for greater tomorrows. This film really had a lot to say to those who’d quiet their minds and just listen; it was fun, funny and sweet, it is a treasure for children and adults alike.
Then on Friday (yesterday) a really sweet friend of mine (new friendship) took me to see “The Proposal.” She is my “IHOP and Chick Flick Friend,” I say that because that is the only two things we have done with each other so far.
We have had breakfast at IHOP twice and seen two chick flicks together, “The Confessions of a Shopaholic” and “The Proposal.”
I read somewhere that some critics think it’s an “unoriginal” film. I beg to differ. Duh, anyone could predict that the two leads will fall in love by the end of the film, that’s the Chick Flick Formula. Shame on movies like “The Break-Up” (Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn) who deviate from the formula. I like my happy endings; got to have my sweet; sexy; sensitive; predictable happy ending. It’s the journey to that predictable ending that makes a cliché flick not that cliché. This was a really funny film and there is no one who could ever be compared to Sandra Bullock. I always loved her films and her versatility. Ryan Reynolds was really a sweet heart in this film. I felt way better chemistry here with Ryan and Sandra than with Isla Fisher and Ryan (Definitely, Maybe) and a much more romantic storyline than in “Definitely, Maybe.”
I liked the tender evolution of emotions in the littlest things in this film. Like when Sandra’s character was in the bed and he was lying on the floor in a guest bedroom at his parents house and she started to confess little sweet unknown details about herself; and when they had to jump in bed together to hide that he was really sleeping on the floor and he started freaking out about his parents and grandma finding out that the engagement was a sham, she starting rubbing his back saying “they’re not going to find out,” then suddenly she started to realize she was beginning to feel something for this guy. At that moment I felt what she was feeling deep inside of my loins and I understood the intensity of the situation and why she felt she had to run away fast. This movie featured a lot of little memorable things like the beautiful backdrop of Alaska; the male stripper/caterer/shop keeper character Ramone (he was very funny); the naked collision; when Sanra’s character tried to bargain with an eagle trading a cute adorable puppy in exchange for a cell phon and more. I’d buy it on DVD. I loved it; five “chick-flick” stars. What can I say I love happy endings more than anything. That’s just me.
Lastly; I f
inally got to watch “Bolt” last night, also about love, unlikely friendships and being a hero. It doesn’t take much to be a hero, just the courage to try. Bolt was nice, it sends a powerful message about the three things mentioned above. I think I may use this movie for a Youth Group Movie Night Fundraiser at our Church. More to talk about next week. Have a hella good weekend and go watch a flick if you can. Tell me about it too.
Tisha.
