Archive for December, 2008

Well, it’s the final day of 2008. Oh, what a year, what a wonderful imperfect year. I initially intended to write a bunch of posts today; one that would be a list of some of my most memorable moments of 2008; but I changed my mind; maybe next year. I’ll make it quick with a very brief rundown. Read the rest of this entry »

The Spirit of Christmas

The spirit of Christmas

Can’t be bought from a store

Christmas spirit means so much more

It’s not found in the decorations or under the tree

The spirit of Christmas lives in the heart of you and me

Its love, kindness, generosity

Forgiveness, joy, quality time with friends and family

Its thankfulness and great appreciation

For what we have and good relations

The spirit of Christmas can’t be bought from a store

The Christmas spirit is a message to us from our heavenly Father

It means a whole lot more

The spirit of the season

Not only this season but every season

Already lives in the hearts of you and me

So let it out, set it free, and carry the spirit of Christmas

The love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ with you dayly

My Christmas Prayer

My Christmas prayer

For you is simply this

A life filled with God’s blessings

This is my Christmas wish

Happiness, Joy, Friendship, love

Modern day miracles right here on earth

Guidance, protection and grace from the Lord above

Great success in whatever you do

Prosperity, financial blessings, the best

I pray for you

May you have a Merry Christmas

The best you’ve ever had

Ring in the New Year

With an open heart

Welcome all good things

Dance and sing, praise, rejoice

Glory to God

For all the wonders this life brings

Merry Christmas

Basically it was as imperfect as a Christmas season could be and I have never experienced one quite like this before. However, I am very glad that it went the way it went because I don’t think there are better examples of what Christmas and life is about. Real life is messy, unpredictable and unbalanced; especially when you have a two year old in the midst. Read the rest of this entry »

I know I haven’t done much talking lately. You can probably guess why that is. It’s Christmastime; the time of year we Christians choose to celebrate the birth of a magnificent human being; Jesus Christ; he sacrificed himself, so we may live a new life; pleasing to God. Happy Birthday Jesus! Read the rest of this entry »

Here are some reviews I wrote a while back but never got around to posting:

Hip-hip-hooray, December is year. It’s the month I spend all year waiting for; it’s the month that brings me more joy and happiness than any other month and you guys know why. It’s Christmastime.

So what’s up this December; well it’s our second Christmas in the U.S; our first Christmas in our own apartment; my daughter’s third Christmas; our first as members of our Church of choice and my third without my mother, brothers and sisters. Read the rest of this entry »
