Archive for September, 2008

Yesterday was officially the final day of summer for 2008. I couldn’t ask for a better ending; this had to be one of the best days I have had in a very long time and not necessarily because of the grandeur of what I did or who I was with; so much as it was because a heavy weight has been lifted and it’s up to me to keep it off. I got to tell you; back in the day; I can’t believe I am old enough to say that, sigh; anyway, back in the day; I really was anxious about getting older; finishing school; earning my own income; getting married; having children; being a successful whatever I become; now I just want to go back there; slap that girl in her face and say slow down; take it a step at a time; live your life. Be a TEEN.
Now I am no longer a teen; I am a woman but my mind is yet to catch up with my no longer skinny adolescent body. I still feel like a teen but I have responsibilities like a mother, wife and a woman. I have to grow up or at the very least find a middle ground. I have to embrace who I am now and work towards being the chick I want to be. Anyway, this post wasn’t really meant to talk about all that per say but I wanted to talk about the young people/celebs I really am a very big fan of out there; their music, their talents, their looks and the way they represent youth and that generation.

Well; the time has come; the waiting period is finally over and we have arrived in God’s nick of time. It hasn’t fully sunk in yet; the beauty of God’s grace but I see with my own two eyes so much to be grateful for. It hasn’t happened all at once and there are lots to do but it is good to be on the first step towards wherever these steps lead. Oh, the mystery of life. So here’s what my weeks been like since my last post (Moving Day- September 5th, 2008): Read the rest of this entry »

So, I have finally arrived, the place I’ve been praying to be, for over a year now. One of my many short-term goals has been realized and I am so grateful to my Father for bringing me to this place. Being here has helped me to understand something I have already known in my heart of heart.

Guess, what kind of vehicle is parked in front our house right now?

Yup; it’s a moving van; they are finally leaving; I pray to bigger and better things; but the folks previously residing in what’s to be our new home sweet home; five days later than they were technically supposed to; are saying goodbye once and for all.

I have to admit; lately I haven’t been feeling God’s presence in my life as strong as times before; it kind of reminds me of the poem “Footprints;” where you look at the footprints in the sand; you only see one pair; you think they are your footprints and you are walking alone in times of trials; not realizing it’s the Father’s footprints you are seeing and he has been carrying you all along.

Sometimes in your life; it gets quiet and you wonder where has your Savior gone off to but you don’t realize he still there; he is still working on your behalf but sometimes he is just keeping a low profile. My Father’s still with me but like I keep saying this is my waiting season, so there’s no big noise here.

I have a little confession to make; during this summer; for about a month or two I have been taking allergy medicine or Tynelol to help me sleep almost every night; because of this act I have been sleeping very well but very unsure if doing something like that is safe; I even prayed about it. Not really receiving much of an answer from God; at least not in a way I understood; I went ahead and continue misusing my allergy and headache medicine to get a good nights rest. Until a couple of weeks ago, I started experiencing nose bleeds more than I have in my life; about six times to be exact; including the two times it happened last night. During these times; I started to wonder if it is because of my new sleeping habit that my nose was starting to bleed so often but I wasn’t sure.

Hi, guys; and happy September; do you know what that means?
You know; a countdown to December; which is my most favorite month of the year. Well, yesterday was a bank holiday and I did nothing but eat and watch a Murder She Wrote Marathon; I am not completely proud of that fact but what can you do. Even though; I know it was not good for my body to be a couch potato in front a screen all day; I couldn’t help it. Come on; it’s Murder She Wrote; besides their was only one thought consuming my mind and that was; Where the heck is the moving van; an entire weekend has past and the people in our apartment (the one we are suppose to move into this month) have not moved out; as they were suppose to by the 31st. Apparently; they will move out “sometime this week.”
So that’s the way it is; my patience is once again being put to the test.
